Restoration - phase II

The 2nd phase took place in 2000 with a further grant of £98,000 from English Heritage

• Repair work done to flat roofs and gutters.
• Interior wooden panels removed for treatment and storage until damp problems solved.
• Further investigation into how to treat damp.
• Plaster and timber to the vaulted ceilings under the flat roofs were removed.
